MARCUS ANTONIUS is the latin pseudonym used by the singer of the famous band called The LUCKY DUCKIES. Marco António Ramos Fernandes uses the latin version of is name as a creator, an author, both in music and in the painting arts. He was born on April 25, 1967, in Lisbon, Portugal. Since his childhood he had vocal and musical instruction of piano and organ at a local Evangelical Church he used to go with his mother. At that time I was already participating in a Gospel Choir. When he was 10 years old, Elvis Presley went away and his father took him to the cinema to watch a movie of this famous singer and actor whom they called the King of Rock’n’Roll. At High School he started producing musical events with his colleagues from the Students' Association, which he was responsible for in the cultural field. At the age of 15 he began to compose his first sketches of songs that he would later perfect and record as an author. In 1987 Marco founded his musical band that is very well known nowadays, especially on TV: The LUCKY DUCKIES. This group has a repertoire that take vintage influences to the way of writing songs by their vocalist. Here are some of the artists and composers who influenced his creativity: Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein, Johnny Mercer, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Elvis Presley, Bing Crosby, Paul Anka, etc. He abandoned his Law Course at the University of Lisbon, where he already gave many concerts with his band, as he was invited by several production companies to do tours around the world, including seasons on cruise ships. In 2013, he and LUCKY DUCKIES won the O Mirante “Personality of the Year in Culture Award”. A note of interest: In 2010, they were invited to act at the reception of the American Presidential Committee of Barack Obama at Lisbon NATO Summit. Today he continues leading The LUCKY DUCKIES successfully and writing the band's original songs. He is available to write songs for other artists or for advertising campains.
