You may already know that the female artist Mimicat will represent Portugal this year at the Eurovision Song Context with main final in Liverpool on May 13rd. Do you already know Mimicat? Here are a few details regarding the artist. Mimicat was presented into the world in 2014, with her first studio album “For You”, but she’s been recording in studios since she was 9 years old. Performer, singer, and songwriter, Mimicat is inspired by the greatest voices in black music, and in love by the pop hits playing on the radio and MTV when growing up. She has become a combination of a deep soulful voice with catchy melodies, expressed by a “sassy-badass” stage charisma. Both of her studio albums “For You” (2014) and “Back In Town” (2017) were released by Sony Music, and 2023 will be the year of a new studio album, combining all these influences that built her. As a first sample she shows “Ai Coração”, a song which currently competed at the Portuguese Festival da Canção 2023 selecting the artist who will represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contact the same year. She won. “Ai Coração” has been written by Mimicat (Marisa Mena, her birth name) and co-produced with Twins (Luis Pereira). Here also inspired by the great voices of the Portuguese music scene, mixed in a perfect cocktail of Mediterranean rhythms and a fun and burlesque atmosphere, never forgetting to emphasize that she is a Proud Portuguese woman.
